The Art of Handmade Chopsticks

From a wood block to a chopstick - A long piece of wood must be initially shaped with two different sizes of wood grinder. First, we used a larger wood handle grinder for coarse grinding; and then we use a small brass wood grinder for a finer grinding.

The final polishing was required to utilize 4 different grades (240/600/1000, and 3000) of sandpapers to meet the ideal calibration and desired surface.

A magnificent experience of learning the art of hand-making chopsticks~ From the selection of the purple ebony wood blocks, balanced the planet to make the ideal shape by continuously calibrating with rules, trimmed the edges with extremely light force precisely. Finally polished the chopsticks with 240/600/1000/3000, 4 different grades of sandpapers to complete the final polishing~ the craftsmanship is all about the attention to details, comme la cuisine, comme l’art, comme la philosophie de la vie~
